From time to time it is very helpful to
"bank" work,
taking your time on a project when you have a lot to spare and a
comfortable situation to work in, for use later, when things are
pressing or in a tense situation in which concentration is difficult or
impossible. There are a couple of ways to do this. It is possible, for
instance, to set a field to trigger at a specific time or in response
to a specific event. This is difficult and needs to be very specific to
be affective though, and it is hard to know what every situation will
be before it happens. In general, you may find it of great use to
create a dedicated object to store a consistently effective field
instead.
Almost any conceptual field you can think of can be set into an object,
and almost any object can hold such a field, if it is generated
properly.
It helps to use an object that is in some way related to the concept
you are going to generate. It will help you to keep your working idea
in mind and aid in remembering what object has what field attached to
it! So a field meant to heal may well be placed in a piece of simple
medical equipment, such as a bandage or cream. A field to increase the
accuracy of divination is going to be well placed on your tarot deck or
even a magic 8 ball!
You can use anything though! Crystals and pieces of jewelry are popular
and traditional focuses, and have the plus of being stable and
resistant to rapid changes.
You will find that the kind of material used makes a huge difference in
the effects you get. This is not so much because some materials are
more "magical" than others, but because objects that are easily changed
(such as liquids or gasses) tend to lose field strength rapidly, where
as more solid objects (such as wood, metal or stone) are harder to
change, but will hold a field for a long period of time. So as a rule,
use liquids for single use items and solids for things that you intend
to use many times.
Some stone objects that have been meditated over by Buddhist monks
still have a strong feeling of peace, even hundreds of years later.
This is not going to be the common result for most of the work you will
want to do, as fields that are constantly, or even frequently
"challenged" will tend to wear out faster than that. Still, it is more
than possible to create a field that will last for most of a year or
more.
"Challenged" just means that a given field interacts with others. This
is how changes are effected psychically, for the most part. When two or
more fields interact, they try to blend into a single field. If one of
these fields is highly organized and replenishes itself, the second one
will be highly changed to resemble the first. This field of information
will then effect the object it is attached to over time. How rapidly is
dependent on how much energy is inherent in its system or made
available to create the desired changes.
How much energy is in a system you are trying to change is important
when dedicating an object to a given task. If there is little energy in
the object you are changing, it will take a very long time to impart
even a fairly weak field. If you can increase the energy in the system,
you will find that more rapid and powerful change is far easier to
bring about!
Once you have the object selected, it is important to have a clear idea
of what concept you are going to use.
Any concept you can generate and hold is fair game in dedicating an
object, but it is going to give you a more powerful result if you can
come up with a single, very clear, specific idea. The more complex the
conceptual data, the more time you are going to need to spend on the
project.
Here are the steps you will want to follow for best results:
-
Pick and understand the object you are going to use.
Is it
hard and unchanging or fluid and easily alterable? Is it highly
energetic (such as a warm object or one that holds an electrical
charge) or is it relatively inert?(Such as a piece of stone.)
-
Some objects can be charged with energy before you
begin
working with it, but remember NOT to handle it once charged! You will
gain very little by holding the object in your hand anyway and tend to
discharge the energy from it with handling.
-
Metal objects can have a small electrical charge
placed in
them by touching a battery to them first. (Use a nine volt, not a car
battery!) A wire to each battery lead will allow a small spark to jump
to the metal when touched to it. Make sure it is sitting on a
non-conductive surface!
-
Most objects can be warmed, say in boiling water
(make
sure they will not melt!), or by being placed next to a heating unit.
Be careful with hot objects though! If you choose to use paper, warm it
carefully with dry heat.
-
You will want to work the object as it is in it's
discharge phase, getting cooler or losing it?s electrical charge, as
this is when changes are taking place in the object itself.
-
Next, find and hold the concept you wish to impart.
Remember that you have to make a mental connection with the object as
well! Otherwise you will just scatter your concept all over the place.
-
Hold this concept for at least one hour. This will
give
you a decently strong field to work with. (If you need help
understanding how to generate a concept, you will find more information
on this site.)
It is possible to create a stronger field by redoing the
work several times.
Use of a dedicated object:
Dedicated objects are best used in conjunction with active systems.
They can be very useful in healing, influencing thought or emotion, or
even influencing raw energy. It may even be possible to influence such
things as time or gravity, though experimentation needs to be done in
these regards.
They are of little to know use in MAKING things happen, but are very
useful when trying to influence the outcome of a specific event in an
active system.
It takes time and effort to make such an object, and because you make
them ahead of a needed event, the effects tend to be more general than
what you could do otherwise. On the other hand, they can work
twenty-four hours a day, they can work in your physical or mental
absence and they can be actively effecting one portion of a situation
while your current focus lies in another area
